Fundación Descubre

Fundación Descubre, promoted by the Department of University, Research and Innovation of the Regional Government of Andalusia, is a non-profit institution that is part of the public administration sector. It was founded in February 2010 with the aim of providing coverage for the creation of networks between scientific, educational, cultural and social institutions in Andalusia to promote the dissemination of science and knowledge, while continuing the project of dissemination of science and knowledge that began in 2007 with the creation of the Network of Spaces for Scientific and Technical Dissemination of Andalusia. The institution includes the following institutions as patrons:

In this way, the Foundation’s goal is to become the meeting point between Andalusian society, science and innovation, although it is primarily directed at citizens. To this end, Descubre orients its action in two directions: one aimed at members, reinforcing and complementing the centres’ educational offering, and enhancing their public image, and another of a more global nature, proposing and promoting activities for the dissemination of science of a transversal and inter-territorial nature, and incorporating as its own objectives those of the Law on Science and Knowledge.
Its aims include promoting interest and raising public awareness about science, knowledge and innovation; promoting the dissemination of innovation and knowledge, establishing and strengthening channels for the dissemination of scientific and technological advances to society as a whole; promoting a public image of science and technology that takes into account the social context in which they are developed, and that helps to understand and value their importance for everyday life; and facilitating dialogue between the different Agents of the Andalusian Knowledge System and society, within the framework of a comprehensive dissemination strategy.
Fundación Descubre is part of this project with the active participation of:
