Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators with the ‘Yes, you STEM!’ Programme
Supported by the Fondo per la Repubblica Digitale Impresa Sociale, ‘Yes, you STEM!’ project, led by IN-STEAM cordinator Gruppo Pleiadi, is a highly experiential training and orientation programme dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The initiative specifically targets middle school students in the Italian provinces of Vicenza and Settimo Torinese—areas widely recognised for their industrial and technological excellence.
The core objective of the programme is to bridge the gap between young students and the STEM world through hands-on, engaging experiences. By doing so, it aims to stimulate curiosity and guide students towards educational and professional pathways that meet the real needs of the local industrial sector.
Key activities of the project include:
–Interactive Scientific Workshops: Bringing practical experiments directly into classrooms.
–Museum Visits: Fostering experiential learning at interactive science centres.
-STEM Talk – Live: Inspiring discussions with professionals in the field.
-Community Building: Involving not just students, but also their families and teachers to create a robust, supportive educational environment.
Crucially, ‘Yes, you STEM!’ shares IN-STEAM’s core values by actively working to overcome gender stereotypes and championing the vital role of women in scientific disciplines. By transforming potential into passion, the project ensures that all young people, regardless of their background, have a concrete opportunity to build their futures in the very communities where they live and study.
