IN-STEAM International Conference in Verona markes a significant step toward more inclusive and innovative STEAM education across Europe

The IN-STEAM Project successfully held its International Conference, “Reshaping Education Through Inclusivity and Innovation,” on 17 November 2025 at the Auditorium of the Order of Engineers in Verona, Italy. The event, organised in a hybrid format, brought together a diverse audience of educators, researchers, policymakers, school leaders, and partner organisations from Italy, Spain and France. Its objective was to present the project’s latest results and promote a broad reflection on how educational systems can evolve to fully embrace inclusivity, creativity and digital innovation.

From the outset, the conference underscored the urgent need to address disparities in access to quality STEAM education. The programme continued with a presentation of the goals of the ELP methodology, a framework designed to integrate science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics through accessible, student-centred and socially sensitive approaches. Speakers showcased the first tasks done offering concrete testimonials on how the project is progressing.

A central moment of the conference was the expert roundtable, which brought together specialists in STEAM education, pedagogical innovation and social inclusion. Participants agreed that inclusive STEAM is not merely an educational trend, but an essential pathway to preparing students for a rapidly changing and increasingly interconnected world.

The event also featured the Pleiadi ELP Experiential Session, a hands-on activity illustrating how experimental science can be made accessible, engaging and inclusive for all learners. The interactive format encouraged open participation and sparked constructive dialogue among teachers and stakeholders.

Across all sessions, the conference reaffirmed the IN-STEAM consortium’s commitment to promoting educational practices that value diversity and foster innovation. The positive reception from participants demonstrated growing interest in inclusive STEAM models and highlighted the project’s capacity to deliver meaningful, evidence-based contributions to the European educational landscape.

Hybrid format

To ensure open access to the knowledge shared during the event, the full video recordings of the conference sessions have been published on Youtube. These materials include the keynote presentations, the methodological overview, the roundtable discussion and the experiential activity. They are available to all educators, institutions and stakeholders who were unable to participate live, and they provide a valuable resource for anyone interested in adopting or understanding the IN-STEAM approach.

The Verona conference represented a key milestone in the development of the IN-STEAM project. By bringing together experts, practitioners and policy actors, it strengthened the shared vision of a European educational system that is inclusive, interdisciplinary and future-oriented.
