A New Indoor Garden Blooms at Collodi Primary School

On 24th April 2026, something special arrived at Collodi primary school in Montecchia: a new indoor garden!

How It Started

The garden was created thanks to the “Fruit and Vegetables in Schools” project promoted by MASAF. To help the school get started, a technician visited to explain how the garden works and proposed a hands-on planting workshop.

The Technology Behind the Garden

This isn’t just any regular garden. The indoor setup utilizes modern growing methods to maximize space and efficiency.

Hydroponic Design: The indoor garden is a compact hydroponic system.

Smart Watering: It consists of four pots featuring automatic irrigation to ensure the plants stay healthy and hydrated.

A Multidisciplinary Learning Experience

This green initiative is set to bring a wealth of educational benefits directly into the classroom.

Nature in Action: Students will be able to observe the complete life cycle of plants up close.

Cross-Curricular Connections: The garden will also allow students to combine lessons in biology, chemistry, and environmental sustainability.

From now on, it will be up to the dedicated teachers and children to care for this special garden! We look forward to watching their hydroponic plants—and their scientific curiosity—grow.
